Marine Parade

The owners of this seafront apartment reached out to us to transform the space. Armed with a brief to create something timeless and traditional with hints of French style, we set to work to create a family retreat that could also be used for short let accommodation.

We designed and installed wooden wall paneling and concealed lighting that would transform the space at night.  Sympathetic restoration of the flooring revealed the natural beauty of Regency floorboards.

Our client had lost hope with the small off centre fireplace. The construction of the chimney flues on the top floor of this Regency building meant that there was no way to centralise the fireplace. Our solution was to design and custom build a mantel piece with our clients love for traditional, French design at the forefront. Extend the width of the hearth and brickwork, running the length of the chimney breast, adding wood paneling above.

Carefully positioned objects on the hearth helped to balance the offset fire opening, giving the illusion of a larger centralised fireplace, the focal point of the room. The new mantelpiece added to the sense of drama and worked harmoniously with the scale and proportions of the space. Our clients were delighted with the result.
